Title: Country Manager – Japan Summary
Japan is already the largest market in the Asia/Pacific region, as well as the fastest growing. The Country Manager - Japan is tasked with capitalizing on the opportunities created by this rapid growth to accelerate growth in Japan even further and to help extend leadership in the casual gaming space to Japan by establishing our business as one of the leading casual gaming brands in the territory.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Sales and Business Development: o Identify, negotiate, and close deals (operations, channeling, promotion) in Japan for multiplayer games and platforms o Build and manage relationships with partners across other business lines: mobile, online, retail, console, advertising and alternative platforms o Work with partners to launch new products and maximize value from existing products. o Achieve or exceed mutually agreed upon revenue targets for the region. o Proactively identify new business opportunities and take ownership of execution o Build and grow presence in Japan · Strategy Development: o Assist in developing and executing go-to-market strategy in Japan for the online, mobile, advertising and alternative platform markets. Identify and prioritize key partners, and quantify the opportunities. o Develop intelligence on the casual game industry in Japan by playing current games, gathering and analyzing relevant industry news and reports, and building and maintaining a network of industry insiders. · Product Development: o Communicate market opportunities to the game studio in Shanghai, to ensure that is developing the right products for partners in Japan o Participate in strategy discussions to determine the priority of product development o Manage local contract resources as necessary to help adjust products to maximize success in the Japanese market Experience and Qualifications
· Strong background in sales and business development, with at least 5 years of experience. · At least 3 years direct experience working in the computer game industry. · Excellent communication and negotiation skills. · Passion for consumer products and games. · Good analytical skills with a high attention to detail. · Ability to work with minimal supervision, occasionally under tight deadlines · Self-starter, willing to be the first employee of our company · Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken) · International experience a plus |
